About the world clock
Local time in Paris alongside a set of common working timezones, so you can see at a glance who is at their desk before you send a meeting invitation.
Working across timezones
- Offsets are not fixed: daylight saving changes on different dates in Europe, North America, and the southern hemisphere, so the gap between two cities shifts several times a year.
- India is offset by 30 minutes and parts of Australia by 45, so "round hour" assumptions break.
- Store timestamps in UTC and convert for display. Storing local time is the root cause of duplicated or missing records around the twice-yearly clock change.
Good to know
The clock reads your device's own time and timezone database, so accuracy depends on your machine being in sync. Azure resources, GitHub Actions schedules, and most CI cron expressions run in UTC unless you explicitly say otherwise — a frequent surprise when a nightly job fires an hour early after a daylight saving change.
